Brighouse

Brighouse is a town located on the River Calder, four miles east of Halifax. The 2001 Census numbered the population of the Brighouse / Rastrick subdivision of West Yorkshire at 32,360.

The name Brighouse (or "Bridge House") originates from a building on (or close to) the River Calder. Brighouse is twinned with the city of Lüdenscheid in Germany, started by an exchange by the Brighouse Children's Theatre in 1950.
