Emley Moor Mast

Emley Moor 'mast' or transmitting station's most famous feature is its 1,084 feet (330 m) tall concrete tower, which is a Grade II listed building. It is the tallest freestanding structure in the United Kingdom and the seventh tallest freestanding structure in the European Union.

The current structure, named Arqiva Tower, is the third structure to have occupied the spot. The second mast, which was 1265ft, collapsed in 1969 after a build up of ice caused it to topple over.
