Patrick Stewart

Sir Patrick Stewart is a renowned actor born in Mirfield on July 30, 1940 . The star of stage and screen is also the Chancellor of Huddersfield University and the President of the Huddersfield Town FC Academy. He is probably most famous known for starring in Star Trek: The Next Generation as Captain Jean-Luc Picard but also as Charles Xavier in the X-Men film series. He has appeared in a wealth of Shakespearean productions and has won a number of awards including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment for Solo Performance in 1994.
