Slaithwaite

Slaithwaite (pronounced locally as "Sl-a-wit")is a village in the Colne Valley that lies across the River Colne and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, sitting approximately five miles south west of Huddersfield.

The village was part of the Earl of Dartmouth estates and recent projects have seen a major restoration to the canal. Slaithwaite is also the only village in England to have a canal running alongside its main street. It is also home to the Moonraking Festival.
