St George's Square

St. George's Square is in the heart of Huddersfield. It boasts some of the town's finest buildings including The George Hotel, Lion Chambers, Britannia Buildings, Tites Building and Huddersfield Railway Station which was once described as 'a stately home with trains in it'. In recent years the square has been re-modelled to create a public space with water features and an improved road layout. The square is the focal point for big events in Huddersfield town centre, including the four day Food and Drink Festival every August and street theatre show Festival of Light in December as well as smaller performances and markets.
