THE winner of the Chadwick Lawrence Business Person of the Year Award will be in exalted company.

Last year’s winner, Jonathan Thornton, of Thornton and Ross, was just the latest in a line of worthy winners.

Previous winners are Ken Davy, chairman of Huddersfield Giants and financial adviser support network SimplyBiz; David Armitage, chairman of Sellers Engineering; David and Luisa Scachetti, founders of nursery products firm Mamas & Papas; and Prof Bob Cryan, vice-chancellor of Huddersfield University.

All of them were recognised for the contributions they have made to the success of their own organisations and the life and well-being of the town.
