PRODUCTS linked to Disney’s Toy Story and the London Olympics are set to provide a boost for collectibles firm Hornby.
The group reported a 9% drop in underlying profits to £5.7m in the year to March 31, but said the period finished strongly as many UK retailers looked to restock after the Christmas trading period.
Hornby, which includes Corgi, Airfix and Scalextric among its hobby brands, said full-year sales rose by 5% to £64.7m – and were expected to show a significant further increase this year.
Hornby said strong interest in existing and proposed London 2012 ranges should give a major boost to revenues between now and 2013.
Products linked to the Toy Story 3 film are also expected to be popular in the current financial year.
