YORKSHIRE food and drink really is the best.
The list of Great Taste Award winners issued by the Guild of Fine Food features almost 30 businesses from the region as gold award winners.
Denby Dale-based ice cream maker Yummy Yorkshire, the Grumpy Mule brand from Meltham’s Bolling Coffee and Dewsbury firm Curry Cuisine were among those to be featured.
The guild’s annual awards are regarded as the food and drink industry’s Oscars.
The 2010 competition attracted a record number of entries – with 6,021 food and drink products blind-tasted, tested and discussed during two months of intense judging by 350 judges.
Jonathan Knight, chief executive officer of regional food and drink brand deliciouslyorkshire, said: “Yorkshire is home to many passionate producers.
To have so, many of our deliciouslyorkshire members winning a Great Taste Award this year reflects the quality we have within our fine food halls, delicatessens and farm shops throughout the region.”
