Chem Resist racks up order from Canada

A KIRKLEES company has added a new country to its list of export markets.
Ravensthorpe-based Chem Resist Ltd has already clocked up tens of thousands of air miles to secure contracts in Algeria, Australia, Egypt, Russia and the Middle East in recent times.
Now the world leader in the design and construction of thermoplastic storage tanks and process equipment has secured a deal in Canada.
ClearTech, a leading distributor of chemicals, chemical feed equipment and laboratory products across Canada has ordered an acid dilution system from Chem Resist with an estimated value of some £50,000.
Chem Resist chairman Seamus Quinn said a recent overhaul of the company’s website – with a balanced mix of technical and product information coupled with testimonials from happy customers across the UK – was catching the attention of potential customers overseas.
Said Mr Quinn: “Obviously, the value of sterling at present is helping us in the export markets – but the personal touch is very important, too. All enquirers receive a call thanking them for their interest with an offer to visit them if required.
“There’s nothing like a personal call to get across the technical know-how we have at Chem Resist!”
Plans are well advanced to grow the company’s export markets which – building on an already healthy domestic order book – will see Chem Resist further developing its reputation as a global brand within its specialist market sector.
Chem Resist was established more than 40 years ago and has supplied chemical storage tanks and installations for many of the UK’s leading companies, including Glaxosmithkline, Kodak, Corus, Agfa and Thames Water.
Demand for its products led to the firm doubling its manufacturing capacity in 2008.
