MOST companies with turnover between £35m and £500m are confident about their prospects in the new year, according to a survey.
The poll carried out for the Department for Business showed that 58% of so-called mid-cap firms expect to lift their turnover above current levels during 2011 while 93% of those seeking funding expect to secure the finance they need. Some 54% also said they increased turnover this year.
Just 7% of firms polled cited access to finance as the main barrier to the success of the business in 2010 against 17% a year ago. Only 32% sought outside finance against 41% last time.
