A COMPANY fitting out bars, hotels and restaurants has signed up to help celebrate Town’s history!
Elland-based design and fit-out contractor Andy Thornton Ltd has become a partner of the football club.
And it will now oversee the development of a new Heritage Suite at the Galpharm Stadium.
Andy Thornton joins a large number of businesses as part of the Huddersfield Town “family” after agreeing a deal which will see them be partners with Town throughout the coming season.
Work to transform one of the stadium hospitality boxes into the Heritage Suite is already under way.
The process of designing and installing the suite in hospitality box one is expected to be complete by the start of the new season.
The box will be given the feel of a classic oak-panelled boardroom from the 1920s – when Town won three championship titles in a row.
The box will be sold by the club’s commercial department on a match by match basis.
Andy Thornton Ltd was established in 1975, when the company began exporting architectural antiques to restaurants and bars in America.
The firm now has more than 140 staff and has a global reputation which has seen it undertake prestigious fit-outs around the world, including Norway, Germany, Russia, Poland, the Middle East and India.
Town commercial director Sean Jarvis said: “We are delighted that Andy Thornton has become the latest organisation to join the Huddersfield Town family of partners.
“To have another globally recognised company amongst our partners is a massive coup for the club and we look forward to working alongside them during the upcoming season.”
He said: “The plans for the Heritage Suite are breathtaking and I have already had a number of bookings for it off the designs alone.
“The work is coming along well and with Andy Thornton’s global reputation for quality workmanship, we know it will be a top class facility to host colleagues, friends or family on our match days.”
Charles Tolley, managing director for Andy Thornton, said the company was proud and delighted to be associated with such a progressive and inclusive club.
He said: “The Heritage Suite provides reminiscences of the club’s glory days of the 1920s but is also reflective of the club’s drive and desire to make Huddersfield Town the number one football club in the region.
“We wish the club all the very best for the forthcoming season and look forward to working alongside them.”
