YORKSHIRE Building Society has named Chris Pilling as its new chief executive.
Mr Pilling, who is head of branch network at HSBC, will take up the post at the end of the year in succession to Iain Cornish, who announced his intention to step down in February of this year.
Ed Anderson, chairman of Yorkshire Building Society, said: “Chris Pilling is an excellent appointment for Yorkshire Building Society.”
The society, which is based in Bradford, has its roots in the Huddersfield and Bradford Building Society.
Mr Pilling began he career with Procter & Gamble as a brand manager before taking on roles at Kraft, British Airways, Telewest and Asda before joining HSBC in 2006 to head internet banking arm First Direct.
