By Kirklees Business Conference Events Director Danny Matharu

HAVING lived in Kirklees practically all my life up until 2008, I had always been based business-wise in Leeds, Bradford and South Yorkshire.

In 2008, I moved my business home to Kirklees and realised that although I knew masses of businesses around Yorkshire, one place I did not know so many was in Kirklees.

After spending some time out and about in our district, I soon realised that it was and still is (in my opinion) the most friendly and open place in which to do business.

From here, I wanted to be able to assist the area in becoming financially stronger.

I subscribe to the opinion that if more local businesses are working together, then there is more local capital swimming about our local economy, making it stronger and ultimately securing and creating more jobs.

This is the whole purpose of KBC – to bring large numbers of businesses together to enable them learn more about each other and ultimately, forge closer trade links with each other.

I am proud to see KBC going from strength to strength each year and I would like to thank our partners, the University of Huddersfield, Kirklees Council, Fantastic Media, Ramsdens Solicitors, Huddersfield Town FC, The Examiner, Code Blue Communications, SMileS SMS and Hi Tech Business Machines.

I would like to thank our raft of exhibitors who make the show what it is with their energy on the day alongside the hundreds and hundreds of delegates who take their time out to visit and celebrate all that is good in business in Kirklees.

One of the biggest compliments paid to the show I can highlight is from Kirklees’ titan of a businessman Dean Hoyle, who said: “Kirklees Business Conference is our district’s flagship business event and I’m proud to have been asked to participate and impart my knowledge to the local business community. KBC is key to the success of the Kirklees economy.”

Watch this space for exciting news of developments in our events programme as Hillrich, along with our partners, will be showcasing the cream of Kirklees’ Businesses across 2012 in the run up to next year’s KBC.

Thank you for reading this supplement and I hope to see you on the day.
