Brett Hodgson column: Young Giants forward Larne Patrick already proving his Super League worth

One of the main reasons for that is this is a new season and, when you’re a player, you often try and forget the bad days you’ve had in the past and focus on the good days.
Obviously, that day out at Wembley last August turned out to be a bad day in the end, so we’ve tried to forget all about that!
As a result, this game on Sunday is all about making sure we’re prepared as well as we can, both mentally and physically, to beat a very good side and try and build on last week’s excellent 30-0 win at Hull KR.
On face value, a 30-0 victory looks pretty comprehensive and may suggest everything in our game fell right into place.
In truth, it was far from it.
Defensively, we’ve got to be pretty happy, but Nathan wasted little time telling us he was far from pleased with our efforts on attack.
We’ve spent a fair bit of time working on that part of our game during the close-season, but it’s fairly obvious to everyone we’ve still got a lot of work still to do, which I know will eventually come.
I say that because I know how hard this group of players will be prepared to work to reach that goal.
That’s been the case in training this week, and Sunday’s game is important simply because it’s the chance to see if we have made improvements in that area.
At this stage of the season, that has to be a priority.
Gaining revenge would be a bonus.
