Last is best in try feast!

Giants 52 - 14 Dewsbury. IT can't be bad when an under-strength side produces a relatively flat performance and still manages to rattle up a half-century of points!

Yet that's exactly what the Giants did in their latest demolition job.

Admittedly, it was against a very spirited Dewsbury Rams side who fielded an even more weakened team than their counterparts.

But this was yet another occasion when Giants coach Tony Smith was able to show what an embarrassment of riches he has at his disposal.

Missing from this match were the likes of Dave Atkins, Ben Cooper, Darren Turner, Chris Molyneux, Eorl Crabtree and Jeff Wittenberg.

While starting on the bench were Stanley Gene and Rob Roberts.

Yet even with a makeshift side on show, they still outgunned and outclassed the opposition.

It took them a while to get into their stride, not helped unfortunately by match official Karl Kirkpatrick who insisted on penalising every little misdemeanour.

A first-half penalty count of 22 speaks for itself!

But at least the message did get through to the players after the break, and the results were highly satisfactory.
