Giants 38 - 16 Centurions. HEROES one and all!
Huddersfield Giants booked their ticket back into the big time with one last Titanic effort to overcome their most determined opponents of the season.
Coach Tony Smith's unbeaten Northern Ford Premiership minor champions made sure this extra special campaign had the happiest of endings by producing a performance which epitomised everything that has gone on during this record-breaking year.
An entire 10-month season of hard work was encapsulated in one Grand Final 80-minute effort, with the Giants forced to call on all their reserves of spirit, strength and determination to pull through.
Opponents Leigh, just like all those who had gone before, did everything within their power to halt the Giants' magnificent charge back into Super League.
Yet the outcome remained the same.
When the pressure has been on, the Giants have always been able to find that extra power, pace and class to overcome potential adversity and storm to victory.
This pulsating Grand Final proved no exception.
For 35 heart-stopping minutes Leigh gave Huddersfield hell.
The Giants' opponents had nothing to lose and, quite simply, did everything humanly possible to knock the champions out of their stride.
