Giants 22 - 30 Broncos. Sad Giants' worst display
Fortunately for the Giants, Martin was unsuccessful with two of the three conversion attempts and a penalty to keep the home side within some sort of striking distance at 20-6 at the break.
Yet the task became even harder a minute after the restart when another blatant forward pass went unpunished and London scored through Martin two plays later.
Although Martin again failed to add the extras, Huddersfield looked down and out.
In fact, it was to act as the wake-up call.
By the 47th minute, the giants had hit back when Jamie Bloem took the ball into the heart of the defence and kept the ball alive for Brandon Costin to eventually collect and feed Alex Wilkinson to score in the corner.
McNamara banged over the touchline goal and the Giants were back in business.
Six minutes later the deficit was reduced even further as the ball was taken to the Broncos line and Darren Turner crashed over in typical style from the acting half-back position.
Costin was unable to land the conversion having taken over from McNamara, who was forced to take a breather after picking up a couple of knocks.
But at 24-16 the McAlpine side were back within striking distance.
A successful 40-20 from Costin almost immediately from the restart put his side straight back on the attack, only to see the approach play fail to live up to the kick.
