Nightmare showing as Bulls' class tells

Giants 6 - 52 Bulls. Men v boys as Giants fail to compete.

Ben Cooper's second-minute knock-on from the play-the-ball inside his own 20 was immediately punished as Bradford worked the position from the scrum for the outstanding Tevita Vaikona to score in the corner.

Paul Deacon failed with the touchline conversion, something he didn't do with his next three attempts, while Lee Radford went on to add the other five.

Huddersfield did initially respond positively to the setback, with Jarrod O'Doherty stopped agonisingly short after the industrious Jamie Bloem - one of the few Giants player to appear to put in any real effort - had made the initial inroads.

But the Bulls' response to the scare was emphatic.

The Giants were slow to react to Paul's 40-20 kick and from another scrum close to the line, Deacon kicked through for Paul to pounce.

Six minutes later, Huddersfield conceded a scrum on halfway due to the first of a number of forward passes, with Brandon Costin the main culprit, and within seconds Vaikona had released Scott Naylor to cruise through.

Missed tackles on halfway then enabled the powerful Paul Anderson to barge several opponents out of his way before setting up the position for Vaikona to score his second, and after 25 minutes the game was over as a contest at 22-0.

Hefin O'Hare did appear to have forced his way over for the first Giants' try after 31 minutes, but his efforts proved in vain as he was called back for a forward pass.

And a similar offence paved the way for the visitors to set up the position for Karl Pratt to run through some awful defence and slide in at the corner three minutes before the break.

With Radford adding the touchline conversion that made it 28-0 at the break.
