Giants 6 - 52 Bulls. Men v boys as Giants fail to compete.
Thankfully, the start of the second half was much brighter for those Giants fans who were part of the excellent 8,297 crowd.
With Iain Morrison and Gareth Greenwood both showing up positively on their Giants Super League debuts, the home side were the better team for 15 minutes.
A break from Senior Academy second-rower Morrison, who played a handful of top-flight games with London Broncos two years ago, almost enabled Paul March to score within a minute of the restart.
Hooker Greenwood also proved a handful for the Bradford defence during this spell, with his lightning work around the ruck catching the Bulls on the hop.
But when Paul sliced through to score in the 57th minute completely against the run of play, the Giants' light relief was over.
Nine minutes later Jamie Peacock almost embarrassingly charged halfway down the field to score under the posts, with the defence laying off him waiting for him to pass to a colleague.
Then straight from the restart, Stuart Reardon gathered the ball, burst through the defence and fed Paul to sprint away for his second.
Three minutes later came the Bulls, ninth and final try.
Yet again it was a try that started from way inside their own half.
A Giants' attack broke down close to the line, and within seconds Bradford were up at the other end of the field and Lesley Vainikolo was diving in at the corner.
