Giants 26 - 4 Wildcats. Reilly dismissal clouds exciting display
McNamara followed up by landing a magnificent touchline conversion and a dream ending to a dream opening 40 minutes had been scripted.
Wakefield produced far more resisttance after the break, but after the Giants' defence had soaked up early Trinity pressure, they hit their opponents on the break.
A strong drive by Darren Fleary, who again led out the side, took play to the line and the ball was worked out for Reilly to feed Julian Bailey to crash over and make it 26-0 in the 59th minute.
The fact the Giants failed to score in the final quarter hardly seemed to matter.
It's just a shame that the last minute should be this game's final act.
