HULL MAKE GIANTS PAY
CHARITABLE Huddersfield Giants gifted Hull FC victory after producing by far their worst performance under new coach Nathan Brown.
After putting in such a monumental effort to win at Bradford Bulls last Friday, the men from the Galpharm were a pale imitation in front of the Sky TV cameras.
The home side produced error after error to make it so easy for their visitors and give former Giants skipper Chris Thorman and head coach Jon Sharp – now football manager at the KC Stadium – the most comfortable of returns.
Quite simply, the completely out-of-sorts Giants got exactly what they deserved from the contest – absolutely nothing!
And it will have given Brown plenty of food for thought ahead of next Saturday’s trip to Castleford.
The Australian’s main objective was to try and make the Giants more consistent, and in that respect he still has a tremendous amount of hard work ahead of him.
His side couldn’t have got off to a better start, hitting the front after just two minutes.
On the sixth tackle, Luke Robinson launched a high bomb, Craig Hall fumbled and Brett Hodgson pounced to score, but he was unable to convert.
Unfortunately, however, the home side failed to capitalise on the perfect start, instead choosing to self-destruct as they made the first of numerous mistakes to set the tone for the whole of the contest.
