Match Report: Giants 20 Hull FC 24

It looked as if there would be little change at the start of the second half as early fumbles again hit the Giants hard.

But after five minutes the hosts were right back in contention courtesy of a super move.

Moore’s pass to the blindside 10m from the Hull line was immediately patted back inside by Brett Hodgson for Kevin Brown to collect and plunge over.

Hodgson again failed to add the extras, and again that Giants score failed to change the complexion of the contest.

Yet another Huddersfield error in their own 20 gave Hull a scrum from where former Giants captain Chris Thorman kicked ahead for Kirk Yeaman to touch down.

Tickle this time failed to convert, but added a penalty on the hour mark after Danny Kirmond was harshly adjudged to have produced a grapple tackle.

The Giants did have the last word as Brown showed his strength to release David Hodgson to scorch over and for Brett Hodgson to convert.

But even though both sides finished with four tries apiece, with the extra goals from Tickle making all the difference, it couldn’t disguise the fact the Giants were poor.
