THIS was a very good performance and I’m delighted with the result.

Huddersfield are an excellent team, and we always knew we would need to be at our best to come out on top.

Fortunately, we were.

Obviously, the performance wasn’t perfect, but I thought our defence was really, really strong.

Huddersfield threw a fair bit at us in the first half, but we held them out, and that meant our confidence just kept on growing and growing.

And to produce a result like this against a side we all rate so highly has to bode well for the games ahead.

In the build-up to the game I said I felt Huddersfield were the dark horses of the competition.

Jon Sharp has done a great job there, and made them an aggressive side with no shortage of skill.

They did a good number on us twice last season and we haven’t forgotten that.

We were extremely wary of them going into the game, and we knew our preparation had to be spot-on.

By the time the game came along we were ready for them.
