Sharp: We will be looking at changes

GIANTS chief Jon Sharp could make changes in a bid to get back to winning Super League ways against Wigan at the Galpharm on Sunday.

Huddersfield’s run of two wins on the trot was brought to an abrupt end with a sorry 24-0 defeat at Harlequins on Saturday.

It was in stark contrast to the previous weeks’ wins when the Giants rattled up a total of 17 tries.

And with the likes of Stuart Jones and Leroy Cudjoe once again impressing for the Reserves and new signing Danny Kirmond 18th man against the Quins, Sharp may consider giving them a run.

“Nothing can be ruled out at this stage,” said Sharp.

“We’ve obviously already spent time working on fixing things up after the events of the weekend.

“We know where we went wrong – although we’ll be keeping that to ourselves, of course! – and we’re now taking steps to rectify that.

“Whether that involves making changes we’ll have to see.

“There are one or two players carrying knocks from Saturday’s game, and I may be forced to make changes anyway. With the busy Easter programme coming up, we can’t afford to take too many risks with players’ fitness.

“And there are certainly one or two in the Reserves who are pushing for a place in the Super League side.”
