Honesty is policy

KEVIN BROWN believes his ‘tryscoring’ pass to Ryan Hudson in the second-half at Harlequins shouldn’t have been ruled out for a forward pass.

But he is refusing to use that as an excuse for the Giants’ Super League defeat down in the capital.

Had Hudson’s try stood, Huddersfield would have been just 12-6 behind after 55 minutes and the Quins’ defence could have started to crumble.

Instead, Brown’s pass was ruled forward, Harlequins were able to breathe a collective sigh of relief and the hosts ran in two further tries to finish 24-0 victors.

And the former Wigan ace had few complaints.

“Personally, I expected the try to be given,” revealed Brown. “I didn’t actually see the pass, because I was taking the tackle, but it didn’t feel forward, and Raz said to be there was no way it was.

“That’s disappointing, but I’ve got to hold my hands up and say we didn’t really deserve anything from the game anyway.”
