Academy Giants tame Bulls

HUDDERSFIELD Giants produced one of the results of the season to secure a stunning 24-18 victory over the second-placed Bradford Bulls in the Gillette Champions Academy at the DRAM Centre.

The home side always had the edge as they notched up their fourth win of the season to strengthen their mid-table position.

The Giants led 12-6 at half-time and maintained their narrow advantage in the second half to secure a thoroughly-deserved triumph.

Victory was secured thanks to tries from Michael Lang, Josh Lyon, Dion Hendricks, Nathan Chappell and Ed Barber, who also added two goals.

But there was a narrow 18-16 defeat for the Reserves at home to Harlequins, who included former Giants forward Jon Grayshon in their starting line-up.

Huddersfield’s tries were scored by Ryan Gorman, Greg Johnson and Sam Crowther, with Scott Glassell landing two goals.
