Credit has to go to coaches

Hi, it’s Jammer here. What a great win at Wigan last week! It was one that was thoroughly deserved, with everyone contributing to a quality team performance.

The coaching staff obviously need to take a lot of the credit, and I was delighted our caretaker coach Kieron Purtill was able to announce he would be joining St Helens next season on the back of such a great day for us at the JJB Stadium.

And I think this is the ideal moment to take the time to say a huge thank you to Kieron for what he has done here.

The circumstances in which he and Paul Anderson came across in taking over as head coaches had to be extremely tough and they should both hold their heads high and be proud of what they have achieved.

They were asked to step in and coach a side low on confidence and in a very tough position.

However, the results have been instant, a close loss at an in-form Wakefield followed by a tough win over London.

The next three games can be a little tough to win for any side, including St Helens at Knowsley Road and Leeds at Leeds, which are certainly no ‘gimmes’!
