Gripping times for big Eorl Crabtree!

“I knew I would need to get it X-rayed and when I was told it was fractured I wasn’t in the least bit surprised.

“But the problem with this injury was that it was a spiral fracture, with the break going from the top of the bone to the bottom. It wasn’t straight across, which would have meant I could have played on with the finger strapped up.

“As a result, it meant it was virtually impossible to grip the ball or grip an opponent when you’re trying to tackle them.

“Fortunately, the finger’s repaired now and I’ll be able to carry straight on from where I left off, hopefully at Castleford his weekend.

“I know coming straight back can’t be guaranteed after that fantastic performance at Wigan last Friday.

“But I was happy with my form before I was injured, and I hope that and the way I’ve trained this week has been enough to convince the coaching staff to put me back in.”
