“But now I’m going, I also want to make sure I play well.

“We’ve got a pretty good squad, and there’s no reason at all why we can’t beat France and Fiji in the group stages and make the finals.

“That in itself would be fantastic.

“But I also want to play well and make sure I’m in good shape for the Giants next season.

“We’ve all got a new coach to impress in Nathan, who I know will be watching my World Cup games very closely, and I want to make sure he gives me a regular start.

“I’ve never made a secret of the fact I love playing for the Giants, and earning a new contract to take me beyond next year is something I’m desperate to get.”
