We won’t rush into signings says Giants chief Brown

GIANTS chief Nathan Brown will not be rushed into making a new signing after the club’s plans to bring in Australian star Todd Carney fell through.
The 22-year-old former Canberra Raiders’ half back, who was sacked there after several off-the-field incidents, was refused a visa to play in England.
But Brown, whose club have been linked with Wakefield half-back Jamie Rooney, remains more than happy with the strength of the squad.
“We’ve obviously been training without Todd throughout pre-season, and training well,” said the former St George coach.
“I’ve been delighted with what I’ve seen from everyone in the squad so far. There’s still work to be done, but we’re progressing well and the group as a whole are creating a very positive impression.
“The fitness levels have definitely improved, and the new structures that have been put in place, both in attack and defence, are coming together well.
