Juniors coup for Giants

THE Giants have signed four of the county’s top young prospects.
Back-rower Scott Farnsworth, utility backs Darren Lamb and Aaron Briggs and full-back Perry Whiteley have all signed professional forms with the Super League club.
And the 16-year-olds will form part of the Giants Academy squad for the 2009 season under the coaching command of Darren Fleary and Anthony Farrell.
Player Performance Manager Pete Riding was at the heart of negotiating the deals, and he is delighted they have chosen to join the Giants.
“I think it’s a massive coup for the club. The four guys have been at the club for a number of months now, some even years,” he said.
“For them to decide that their immediate future lies with the Giants is fantastic for all involved.
“There have been a lot of people playing a big part in their development and what we want to do now is challenge these lads to fulfil the obvious potential they all possess.”
