CONTROVERSIAL Australian rugby league star Todd Carney is in trouble once again.

The world-rated half-back, whose proposed move to the Giants fell through on January 8 after he was refused a visa by the British authorities because of a series of off-the-field alcohol-related incidents, was arrested last weekend.

Carney was sacked by Canberra Raiders midway through last season because of his bad-boy image and he was led away by police in handcuffs at a hotel in Goulburn early last Saturday to be questioned over an incdent outside a club in the city the week before.

The 22-year-old was being charged with having damaged a car when he and another man jumped on the vehicle, which was parked oustide the Goulburn WMC, just minutes after Carney had been ejected from the club by security staff.

Goulburn police only received CCTV footage of the incident a week ago, and that was the reason for the delay in his arrest being made.

Carney was due to fly out to North Queensland this week to play the 2009 season with local club Atherton Roosters.
