CHAD RANDALL signed for Harlequins for the start of the 2006 season and is widely regarded as one of the top hookers in Super League.

Formerly a player for Manly in the Australian NRL, Randall missed the start of the 2006 campaign following surgery to his shoulder and his Quins debut was made at Huddersfield on March 19.

Sound in defence, an excellent runner from dummy-half and astute kicker, Randall’s form since his arrival in London has been exceptional.

At the conclusion of Super League XII, his reliable contribution to the side was recognised when he won the club’s “Iron Man award” for being an ever present during 2007, an award he repeated in 2008.

QUINS coach Brian McDermott was honest in his assessment after his side had been heavily beaten 46-6 by the Giants at the Galpharm 12 days ago.

And no doubt the former Huddersfield assistant coach will be using that woeful showing as an extra source of motivation for tomorrow’s Challenge Cup tie.

McDermott admitted straight after the Super League clash: “We are not a bad team. I’ve got a group of people who care immensely about what we are trying to do and if I suspected for one minute that one of our players didn’t care about what’s happened against Huddersfield, they wouldn’t be here.”

Tomorrow is the chance to prove they do care.
