Giant Lunt celebrates first start with emphatic win
SHAUN LUNT believes his first Giants’ start couldn’t have gone much better.
The 21-year-old hooker has made a positive start to his Super League career following his close-season switch from National League club Workington Town.
But up until yesterday all five of his Giants appearances have been from the bench.
That all changed at Craven Park when he got the chance to step up for the rested Scott Moore.
And he couldn’t have been more delighted with the way it went – not just for him but for the team.
“Having come off the bench a few times, I was keen to see how I would do from the start at this level,” he said.
“I wanted the opportunity to play big minutes and see how I went
“Personally, I thought I did okay, and I felt fit and fresh at the end, despite playing for over 70 minutes.
“But I suppose it always helps if you come off at the end when you’ve won!
“And I also got the added lift of scoring a try, and at a pretty crucial stage of the game.
