Brett Hodgson column: Let’s build on this Giants win
May 8 2009 Huddersfield Daily Examiner
We’ve nothing like this in Australia, and it’s exciting to be a part of a competition as famous as the Challenge Cup.
I love the idea of being part of a competition where teams from so many different Leagues come together to compete in the one tournament, and where each game is sudden death.
It’s exciting and very successful, and I’ve no doubt the Australian game would benefit from an event like this.
It really is a tremendous competition.
WE can’t believe how much sympathy Kev Brown, pictured, has had after he had to be helped off the Murrayfield pitch late in the game.
He proved to everyone after being ‘slapped’ by Paul Whatuira that he’s got a bit of a glass jaw, so he’s not had much sympathy off the rest of the boys at all.
We noticed that when the incident was shown on the big screen that the fans inside the stadium made a very concerned noise and felt incredibly sorry for Kev.
But, as I said, that concern was not shared by his teammates.
If Fatz had hit Kev with the fist, we could understand it, but seeing as it was his fingers, all sympathy was immediately lost.
In fact, it’s fair to say that every single teammate has been giving Kev stick big time ever since.
So, did we have any sympathy for him at all? You must be joking!
