Giants cup tie break is tonic for top men

“Apart from giving some of us a rest, the cup-tie was an excellent opportunity to give some of our very talented young players a taste of first-team action, and they all performed well and were a credit to the club.

“But most of the senior guys would expect to be back against Salford, and I’m sure a week off at this stage of the season will prove to be of benefit.

“It’s given us all a chance to freshen up after a pretty demanding start, and we’re all looking forward to getting back playing.

“Having to watch from the sidelines increases your desire to play.”
