GIANTS chief Nathan Brown has finally got his man!
New Zealand Test forward David Fa’alogo today put pen to paper on a three-year-deal to join Huddersfield for the start of next season.
The 28-year-old joins from South Sydney Rabbitohs where he earned a reputation as a hardman in the tough Australian NRL.
And Brown admits he’s a player who has interested him for several years.
“I wanted to take him to the Dragons a couple of years ago, but it wasn’t possible,” revealed Brown.
“But he has a clause in his contract that he can move to England, and I’m absolutely delighted we’ve been able to strike a deal.
“He’s a top-quality player and one that will add extra strength to a pack that is already doing a very good job.
“He is someone who can play in the intensity of an elite competition for long periods, and I’ve no doubt he will make a very positive impression in Super League.”
Although Fa’alogo will have a massive role to play in helping the Rabbitoh’s reach the NRL play-offs at the end of the season, he admits he is excited about coming to Huddersfield and playing in Super League.
"I’m really looking forward to joining Nathan Brown at the Giants next year,” he said.
“It has always been my goal to play in the UK and I can’t wait to come here.
“I know I’m going to miss my teammates and fans here at Souths, but I hope to finish the season off with success.
“The Giants are very ambitious and near the top of the competition so I am sure that I can go there and help them achieve success.”
