Now let’s push on! – Giants chief Brown
GIANTS chief Nathan Brown is determined to see his side progress from their victory over Celtic Crusaders and strengthen their top four Super League challenge.
Huddersfield ended their first two-game losing run of the season 12 days ago with a comfortable 40-16 triumph over the struggling Crusaders as part of the Magic Weekend at Murrayfield.
That made it eight wins from 12 starts ahead of Sunday’s home clash against second-bottom Salford City Reds.
And, having got back on the winning League track and then backing it up with a 38-12 Challenge Cup triumph over Rochdale Hornets on Sunday, Brown is desperate to see his side re-capture some of their early-season top form.
"After the win over the Crusaders I’d really like to think we can start to push on again," said Brown.
"Although there were areas we still need to improve, there were still some good signs which suggest we can start to get back to where we were a month or so ago.
"We obviously know we can’t be up there in terms of performance all the time, and no-one can dispute we’ve been going through a flatter period.
"But with the way the training has been planned, we’d like to think we’re about to rise again, especially as we’ll have a number of players returning after a weekend off.
"Hopefully, those who were rested for the Rochdale Cup game will come back fresh and will have got over their niggly injuries.
