I hope this loan deal is just the start! – new Giant Mossop

LEE MOSSOP has joined the Giants on a month’s loan from Super League rivals Wigan and immediately declared: “I’d be happy to stay for longer!”

The 20-year-old England Academy second-rower trained with his new teammates for the first time yesterday and could make his debut in Sunday’s top-flight clash at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Mossop made his first-team debut for the Warriors against French side SM Pia XIII in the Challenge Cup last season and went on to make three further appearances in Wigan’s first team.

But having spent the early part of this season on loan at high-flying Championship club Barrow, Mossop jumped at the chance to move to the Galpharm to try and gain more Super League experience.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be here,” said Mossop, who is a product of the Hensingham amateur club in Cumbria and signed a three-year deal at the JJB Stadium last season.
