“Having a dip now means you have the time to iron out the kinks and make sure you’re in the best possible shape for when it really matters – at semi-final time.
“That’s certainly the way we’re looking at it.”
Lolesi knows how important a positive performance – and result – at Wakefield will be.
And he is relishing the battle against the Wildcats.
“We’ve been involved in some tough scraps with Wakefield in the past, and I’m sure this Sunday will be no exception,” added the former Australian NRL Grand Final winner with Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs.
“To be honest, I’ve had a couple of run-ins with a few of their players over the last two years, but I’m determined to let my rugby do the talking this weekend.
“We all know how important this game is to try and get us back to some of our early-season form.”
Fit-again forwards Andy Raleigh (knee) and Darrell Griffin (leg) are both in line for a return, while on-loan Wigan back-rower Lee Mossop is poised for a debut.
