No-one will mess with Giants new boy – Jammer

“I’ve no doubt that when he and the likes of (Wigan second-rower) Gaz Hock lock horns, there will be some fireworks.

“And confrontations like that are certainly good for the game all-round.”

Although Lolesi has spent a lot of his Giants career playing in the second row, the 28-year-old is still delighted to welcome a fellow back-rower to the club – particularly as he is now operating more as a centre.

Unfortunately, that has come at the expense of rising Giants star Michael Lawrence, who has moved to the wing to accommodate Lolesi.

But Lolesi knows Lawrence’s time will eventually come.

“I originally came over as a back-rower,” he added.

“But we suffered a few injuries and I was moved to centre as cover, and I now feel that’s my best position.

“Browny obviously feels the same and has put me in there, although it’s been at the expense of young Bruno (Lawrence), which is a shame.

“Centre is a tough position to play defensively, and Bruno has done an excellent job there when he’s played there.

“But, at the age of 19, he’s still very much learning and I’m happy to help in his development, because I’ve no doubt that in the next few years he’ll become one of the top centres in the game.”
