Delight at my new Giants deal: Jamahl Lolesi
May 26 2009 By Chris Roberts
JAMAHL LOLESI today put pen to paper on a new two-year deal which will keep him at the Giants until the end of the 2011 season.
The 28-year-old former New Zealand Test centre has been a big hit with the fans since arriving at the Galpharm at the start of the 2007 season.
Lolesi’s news comes just two days after a top-quality tryscoring display in the big 54-6 Super League win at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and ahead of Sunday’s big Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final clash against Castleford Tigers at the Galpharm.
And the powerful two-time Australian NRL Grand Final winner is hoping the Giants can go on and achieve much more success in the next few years.
"It’s really good news we’ve sorted a deal out. With Nathan Brown coming in as head coach it made the decision a lot easier," said Lolesi, known as ‘Jammer’..
"I’ve really enjoyed my three years at the club and we’ve worked hard in that time and come a long way and we’ve worked hard to get where we are.
"The club is on the brink of some good things and I want to be a part of it. I’ve achieved what I’ve wanted to achieve in Australia with winning the premiership and representing my country.
