Giant Scott Moore hitting form at right time

LIVEWIRE hooker Scott Moore believes the Giants have re-discovered their form at just the right time.

The 21-year-old was back to his best as Huddersfield destroyed Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 54-6 at Belle Vue to move back up to fourth in the Super League ladder.

That put coach Nathan Brown’s men firmly back on track after a run of three defeats in their previous four top-flight fixtures.

The manner of the win at Wakefield has put the Giants in excellent heart ahead of Sunday’s big Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final clash against Castleford Tigers at the Galpharm Stadium (3.30).

And Moore, left, who spent last season on loan at the Tigers, is confident that if his side can build on last Sunday’s show, a place in the semi-finals of rugby league’s most famous knockout competition will be secured.

“After a below-average month, last Sunday at Wakefield was a great way to respond,” said Moore, who is on-loan from St Helens for the season.

“Everyone knows we’ve been through a flat spell, and I’m the first to admit that I’ve not been at my best. I don’t know exactly why that is, maybe it was because of the number of games I’d played earlier in the season.

“But I was always confident I’d soon get my form back, and that we’d get back our form as a team.
