Cup final return is a true dream – Giants ace Raleigh
May 30 2009 By Chris Roberts
He produced an excellent performance as the Giants stormed to a superb 54-6 Super League success, and he is hoping it’s a taste of things to come.
"It was great to be back last weekend and contribute to such a big win," he added.
"We’re obviously hoping that’s the sign we’re getting back to our best form, because if it is, it’s returned at a very good time.
"And I was delighted with the way I came through the game. I didn’t feel the knee during the game at all and to come through without any problems was great.
"But even more pleasing was the manner of the win that day.
"It was a fantastic team performance and has put everyone in excellent heart ahead of tomorrow’s game.
"If we could produce something similar against Castleford we’d put ourselves in an excellent position to win the tie, and it would also show us in a great light on the BBC.
"We’ve not been brilliant in front of the cameras this season (the Giants have lost at home to Hull and Leeds on Sky TV), but there would be no better time to put that right than tomorrow.
"This really is a massive game for so many reasons."
Because tomorrow’s clash is being shown live on BBC2, the draw for the semi-finals is being made at the Galpharm Stadium shortly after the end of the Giants-Tigers clash.
It will be shown on the stadium’s big screen for the victorious fans to see who their team have drawn in the last four.
