Giants try hero Danny Kirmond: "We are confident"

Kirmond insists there was no panic, despite the Giants being well behind at one stage.
“We have spoken a lot about building pressure early, and getting points later on in games,” he said. “We know we are a very fit team because of the pre-season we have had and the work we have put in, and we always remain confident.
“We wasted a lot of opportunities but we knew that they were tiring towards the end and we knew we could get there. The confidence showed, and we managed to get the win.”
Looking ahead, he added: “St Helens in the semi-finals is a big occasion, but we are keen to just concentrate on the league now.
“That’s another competition we want to do really well in and the Challenge Cup preparations will come round when we get to them.”
