New Giant Danny playing the waiting game

DANNY SCULTHORPE has been told he faces a waiting game before he can be guaranteed a first Giants Super League start.
The new on-loan prop signing from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats was Cup-tied for Sunday’s thrilling 16-14 Challenge Cup quarter-final triumph over Castleford.
Fellow new loan man, Wigan back-rower Lee Mossop, was also unable to play in the Cup clash after featuring for the Warriors in an earlier Cup tie.
But while he is in line for a return in Friday’s Super League clash against Hull KR at the Galpharm, Sculthorpe has already been told he must wait until the following game at Leeds Rhinos at least before making his Giants bow.
“Nathan (Brown) has already told me he wants me to do a good two weeks’ training so I know how the team plays and I can get up to the standard of fitness he requires from me,” said the 29-year-old, who is with the Giants for the rest of the season.
“And that’s fair enough. In that time I’m just going to work as hard as I can and do whatever it takes to force my way into the side.
“I always knew I wouldn’t be able to walk straight into this team, because there are already a lot of good props here.
“But I know that I’ll have 12 games to prove to everyone what I can do, and hopefully show enough to convince Nathan to keep me for longer.
