New Giant Danny playing the waiting game

“As well as trying to get my career back on track after a tough time at Wakefield, I’ve got a young family to look after.

“So I know how important the next few months are going to be for me, and I’m already very excited about the Leeds game.”

Meanwhile, scrum half Tom Hemingway’s month loan spell at top Championship club Halifax has come to an end and he is back at the Giants.

The Super League club were informed earlier in the week that Halifax would not be retaining the goalkicking half-back.

“Graham Clay (Halifax chief executive) rang yesterday to say that Tom would not be playing at the weekend and they would not be seeking to extend his loan period, which ends next week,” explained Giants managing director Richard Thewlis.

“So there was little point in him training any further with them.

“But under the regulations he does remain on Halifax’s roster next weekend so he is unavailable for us until June 15.”
