Five to miss Giants/Rhinos Headingley clash

There are just six survivors from the England squad beaten 32-22 by New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final in Brisbane last November.

They are captain Jamie Peacock, James Graham, Danny McGuire, Adrian Morley, James Roby and Ben Westwood, while Sam Burgess and Sean O’Loughlin return to the international fold after missing the World Cup through injury.

But Smith has stressed that the England door is far from closed to any player ahead of the end-of-season Four Nations tournament.

Squad:@ Ryan Atkins (Wakefield), Sam Burgess (Bradford), Shaun Briscoe (Hull KR), Tony Clubb (Harlequins), Eorl Crabtree (Huddersfield), Peter Fox (Hull KR), James Graham (St Helens), Ryan Hall (Leeds), Gareth Hock (Wigan), Danny McGuire (Leeds), Scott Moore (Huddersfield), Adrian Morley (Warrington), Richard Myler (Salford), Sean O’Loughlin (Wigan), Jamie Peacock (Leeds, capt), James Roby (St Helens), Michael Shenton (Castleford), Sam Tomkins (Wigan), Ben Westwood (Warrington).
