Nathan Brown column: Cup atmosphere is so special

So now it’s Hull KR at the Galpharm tomorrow night. Is the squad looking in good shape?

Brett Hodgson is obviously going to be out for a week with a knee injury, and Jamahl Lolesi is going to sit this one out because he’s taken two bad head knocks in the past two games.

Apart from that, the only senior player missing is Liam Fulton (knee), although he could be back in a couple of weeks.

We’ve now got Danny Sculthorpe over from Wakefield, who is training well and could soon be in contention, while (Wigan on-loan back-rower) Lee Mossop is straight back in the frame after being Cup-tied last weekend.

So, overall, we’ve got a pretty strong squad, and that means there are some tough selections to make.

Hull KR will also pose a genuine threat to you. Do you believe the key is keeping Michael Dobson quiet.

There’s no doubt this is a tough test for us, and Hull KR are not running second by fluke.

Dobson is definitely a key player for them, although he is just one of the keys. He, Cooke and Murrell are all important to their structure.

And in the pack Clint Newton and Benny Galea are important to what is a strong side.

I’m sure they will be smarting after their golden-point Challenge Cup defeat to Warrington last weekend.

But that was a game that could have gone either way, and I’m sure they will be coming here fancying their chances. It’s up to us to make sure it’s not their day.
