We’ll battle to the end says Giants' Jackson - video

“Obviously, it would be great to win in the manner we did at Wakefield in Super League the other week (the Giants won 54-6, while they edged out Castleford 16-14 in the Cup), but if we can’t do that at least we know we have what it takes to grind out the wins.

“That could hold the key to our success, not just for tonight but for the rest of this season.”

Jackson knows another fierce forward battle is in store tonight, with both packs having been at the heart of their respective Super League successes.

And the Scotland World Cup star is looking forward to playing a part and locking horns with a former Giants teammate in Nick Fozzard.

“Fozz and me go back a long way to the early days of the Giants in Super League,” added Jackson.

“He’s always been a good, fierce competitor and I know he’ll be looking forward to coming back and facing us, particularly after the events of our game over at Hull on Easter Monday.

“We put in a great performance that day to win 30-8, and it was painful for Fozz for a different reason, too.

“He caught me a bit high that day, but he came off worse with a torn arm, which is something I’m sure he hasn’t forgotten.

“But Fozz is just one of the players in the Hull KR side who deserve our utmost respect.

“They’ve got quality players throughout the side, and the fact they’re second in Super League speaks for itself, and we know that this has all the makings of another great game.”
